Rosenbaum Engineering provided structural engineering for this facility located on a site adjacent to the existing jail. The new complex included a three-story, 150,000 s.f. Court Facility ( 2 Superior Court rooms, State Court room, Magistrate Court room, Juvenile Court Room, Shared Court room, and 4 additional future court rooms), a 140,000 s.f. Sheriff’s Office and Jail, housing 400 inmates. Renovation of the existing 35,000 square jail facility was included. The project included reinforced masonry/concrete security walls and ceilings, a large dome structure on the justice center roof, underground passageways and a connector tunnel to allow secure transfer of inmates from the jail into the court facility. Security and containment of prisoners was a primary design criterion for this project.
